what i wore: hazy daze

WAREHOUSE dress; SHANTON cardigan; DIVA rosary; LOVISA bug and bird rings; EQUIP love and flower rings

Actually forgot I had these photos on my camera! Also seemed to have recycled the whole outfit almost a month later, with different shoes. I bought this dress months ago at a massive clearance sale at The Warehouse for around $15. I had almost talked myself out of buying it cause I knew I would hug my body and I tend to shy away from that. I'm glad I didn't thought as it is an amazing dress! It has to be one of the most comfortable things I've ever worn. It can be a bit short when you sit down, but that's easily avoided. Also loved that when I put it on I had lost weight since buying it and it fit better than ever.

I want to wear this loads during summer, but it's a tube dress and I am so not a fan of my upper arms and back. I'm always in a cardi or something, might have to look into getting a summer one just for this dress. The shoes I wore with it are some awesome peep-toe wedges that I bought at The Warehouse, but I wore it with a pair of high heeled clog boots on Friday...they both went great with it. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the wedges, which I must do as they are so cute!

I have a haul post from some shopping I did last month to come, as well as taking pics of the few things I bought at the weekend. I am so over this whole shopping ban! I went from shopping almost every weekend to two trips in the last two months. It is literally killing me! Cannot wait to get the bond for a flat saved so I can splurge like no one's business!

what i wore: lumberjack

THE WAREHOUSE dress (kid's section), cardigan, and boot; DOTTI belt

This has been the longest, most stressful, jam packed week in history. Last Saturday I received an email from my landlord telling us they were selling the flat...that would have been fine if it wasn't 24 days before our current lease expires. I spent all week driving all over ChCh looking at flats, and my manager from hell wouldn't give me annual leave for the time off, so I would have to go back to work and makeup my time. That makes flat hunting VERY hard.

On top of that I had a job interview on Tuesday and have been freaking out about the possible outcomes all week. The Dr. told me he would try and let me know either way by Friday, but I haven't heard anything yet. I don't think I got it and am pretty gutted about that. Then J had a last minute work trip to Auckland. He literally was told Wednesday morning that he was going, on a plane on Thursday morning, and back on Friday night. Wish I could have gone, but work isn't that nice.

This outfit is from a couple of weekends ago and one of the worst things to photograph ever, hence why it is done like this and not like my normal photos. Cannot remember where I wore, but I wanted a thicker dress as it was freezing out. Paired with my beloved cardigan (I wear this ALL THE TIME and usually in place of a jacket) and well worn motorcycle boots. I am a walking advertisement for The Warehouse in that. I don't normally wear one store from head to toe.

I'm hoping I can get a cheeky shopping trip in next week. I feel like I haven't been in ages, and I popped into Glassons yesterday to have a look and wanted almost everything in the store! I could easily spend a month's wages in there no problem. And it seemed every store in Westfields was have a massive sale...always happens when I'm on a shopping ban.

what i wore: beached as

THE WAREHOUSE cardigan and boots; JAY JAYS floral top and denim skirt; COTTON ON watch and sunglasses; GLASSONS bag; FARMERS belt

I'm not sure if I've mentioned on this blog that I have a habit of dressing completely inappropriately for most occasions. Like every time J and I go out for a bit of a trek around I'm always in a dress and ballet flats. We took a spur of the moment day trip to Kaikoura one day, a day where I had woken up and put on a flowy dress, tights that will not stay up no matter what, and worn in ballet flats. Having never been to Kaikoura I didn't know that the beach was not sand, but flat rock that was covered in some very slick algae. Also didn't know that we would walk around the beach and have to jump over canyon sized gaps with a high tide fast approaching. After the flat rock it was sharp, stony paths that cut right through my shoes. I was rewarded for my efforts however, with a large group of seals resting on the rocks. Almost walked past one, but saw it and turned around...they attack apparently.

So when I suggested we go back to Spencer Park in the daytime I should have thought to wear something beach appropriate. I didn't. I remembered to wear boots as it was chilly, but didn't think when I put on a skirt that is a size too big and the same tights as Kaikoura. I will never learn.

It was a nice day, not too warm or cold, and much better than being at work. If I could have days like that and get paid for them I would. In fact, right now I would settle for anything than my current job. I have a job interview on Tuesday that I'm prepping for. So far that has included getting rid of my orange tipped hair, which I was glad to see go, and freaking out about what to wear. I have an outfit in mind, just need to put it on and see if it works. I really want this job, but can't really afford to take a pay cut as we were notified that our current flat is going to be placed up for sale by the landlord. So we have until August 22 to find something else, or do a temporary lease to stay on until we find something. We also have the option of buying it, but I don't want to. I have no long term plans to stay in New Zealand, I love it here, but I would love to move to the UK one day, so buying a house here seems rather pointless.

*The title of the post is from beached as whale. so funny! typical kiwi bru speak.

what i wore: purple haze

SUPRE dress; SHANTON cardigan; COTTON ON boots and watch; DIVA rings

This dress was my first purchase from Supre, and I loved it so much I bought another in green. The sizing is a bit weird. This is a small, and the middle of the dress is fine, but the sleeves are killer. They stop right on the elbow and are so tight, I often worry that I will lose feeling in my arm if I wear it too long. I don't wear it much which is odd since it is one of my favourite things ever. I love the satin like material and it is the perfect length.

The boots were an impulse buy. I bought an exact pair months earlier but once I got home I realised that while they both said the same size one was actually a size smaller. I took them back and was told I would get a call when a new pair came in to that store, but it never happened and I found these at another one. I forgot I owned them, they were hiding at the back of my closet in my 'dressing room' and I have had a select few pairs of boots on rotation lately.

My love for big rings is major. I ADORE that diamante one so much! Both were $3 at the Diva sale, and I fast becoming my go to rings.

Weekend wishlist tomorrow will be a special one as it's my birthday! This weekend is shaping up nicely as well. Booked Monday off work specially, have a chocolate mud cake from Divine Cakes for tomorrow, J is cooking me a special breakfast and dinner, and he booked me a 2 hour spa package at Erban Spa for Monday. I love spas! Last year we spent our anniversary in Akaroa and he snuck out while I was napping to book me a facial/massage combo that was heavenly! I've been wanting to go to one again, but always managed to spend my money on clothes and all instead of doing that. Cannot wait!

what i wore: lazy days

VALLEY GIRL striped top; GLASSONS cardigan; THE WAREHOUSE second skin jeans; FACTORIE leopard flats; DIVA rings

J was rushing me this morning, wanting to get a full english down his neck as soon as, so i grabbed the most comfortable outfit i own. i could live in this shirt, honestly. it is so light and comfy. i actually bought it in this colour as well as orange stripes. really considering going back for the blue one. it has a very deep pocket on one side that you can't really see in the pics, but i think it's purely for decoration that functionality.

when i lived in the states i lived in jeans, only wore them if they were flared, and they had to be just the right shade of blue. when i moved to new zealand my style changed to incorporate dresses, something i NEVER wore in the states, to the point that everytime i went out i had one on. lately, however, with the temps not rising above 10C during the day and plummeting at night i've been relying heavily on jeans. all my flared jeans have been tucked away, waiting for me to like them again or to be dropped off at the charity shop, but the skinny jeans are out and on heavy rotation. these are second skin skinny jeans by garage from the warehouse, and they are just that. they aren't bulky denim and have a bit of stretch and are so so comfy. i wear these more often than the others just for the comfort factor.

i am a massive fan of leopard print, so when i saw these at factorie for $4.95 i snatched them up. tempted to go buy another pair for when i wear these out. i know they don't match anything, but i'm not a matchy-matchy kinda girl. i wear them with anything, even paired them with a wine and black print dress. i figure as long as i like what i'm wearing that's all that matters.

sorry about the face, i seem to go to sour puss mode when the camera is out.

what i wore: striped flowers

JAY JAY'S dress; JEANSWEST cardigan; DIVA rosary, starburst ring, and stone ring, LOVISA gold bar ring, BLING snake ring; GLASSONS red jewel ring, THE WAREHOUSE tights

my check list for getting dressed for a family lunch on sunday included something comfortable and cute. it did not, however, include something weather appropriate. and i didn't expect to be walking around in the cold and rain when i was getting dressed either. needless to say, i was freezing. it didn't help that i paired this with some rather thin tights and ballet flats. the big winter coat i wore did nothing.

i bought this dress sometime last year, and i remember having to try on about 4 different sizes before i found one that worked. the sizing from store to store is ridic. i ended up buying this dress in a NZ size 10 (US6/UK10) and getting a shirt dress in an XL, all from the same store. I'm not sure if it's the sizing at the store or if i'm just super disproportioned, but it does make shopping a bit of a hassle at times.

i love the skirt part of the dress, but i'm not a huge fan of the top. I have a few dresses like that, t-shirt type on top and flowy skirt on bottom...they are some of the least worn items in my wardrobe. not sure why i keep buying them when i don't wear them.

the cardigan gets a lot of wear, it's super soft and comfortable, but OH SO big. it was the last one in the store, and either an XL or XXL, but at $20 i couldn't resist it.

the rings are my favourite part. i'm so addicted to buying rings lately, i have well over 50 i'm sure. the red one was purchased a couple of days before and was $3 with a BOGO, so i bought it in a blue-green as well. in fact all the rings were $3 except the snake one, which was around $5 i think.

i don't have a proper picture of the rosary, but it is, without a doubt, one of my favourite things ever. i became obsessed with crosses after buying one of the double finger cross rings, and have slowly added to the collection. only problem with the necklace is it likes to break, but it's an easy fix so i keep on wearing it.

i am in dire need of a hairstyle. i need to go get it thinned out and trimmed, something i never remember to do. also thinking about ditching the pink. i've had it for a little over 2 months now and at first i thought about changing it to purple, but i'm keen to go back to all red. i touched up my roots the other night with a different colour than my norm and it came out brown with a red tinge. not pleased, took me well over a year to get the perfect red colour. any hairstyle suggestions? i don't want to go short, i've been growing my hair out from a short, choppy angled bob for 3 years now, so i def want to keep it. it needs something before i take the scissors to it out of boredom.

what i wore: nouveau grunge

JAY JAY'S jumper; THE WAREHOUSE floral tank and grey skinny jeans; GLASSONS wedges; SILVERMOON turquoise ring; DIVA silver band and white stone ring; KOSCO owl ring; DIVA i'm a survivor nail polish

i chucked this on to go out to breakfast with the boy. in my head i imagined it would look fantastic paired with my new wedges and a black leather jacket. in reality i hated it. i haven't worn the jeans since 2008? and they are slightly too large now. the jumper was all kinds of horrible. i bought it in grey and black, the black one i have no problems with, but this one kept riding up. i couldn't wait to get home and get out of it.

the shoes are epic! i've been trolling shops and trademe for months looking for a pair of black wedges. i have a pair from the warehouse that are so uncomfortable i hardly wear them out of the house. these aren't much better, but i think a pair of inserts will do the trick. they aren't really suited for winter weather since they have the open toe, but i will sacrifice my toes to the cold.

this is only a small very tiny selection of my rings, i have heaps, and i ended up taking them off at brekkie as my fingers were in no mood for decorations. normally they fall off during the day, but not today. had a hard time removing them from my swollen fingers.
